New Lambton
An area rich in mining history, the design includes eight 3-bedroom townhouses on a unique site that occupies the full extent of the block, addressing four different street frontages. The concept for the design drew heavily on the existing surrounds which is dominated by colonial and traditional style weatherboard architecture, while breaking down the scale and bulk of the project. The underlying idea was to create a community of unique and individual dwellings within an overall architectural aesthetic that responds to it’s context both historical and immediate.
